How To Tell If It's AN MX or Not
Hi All,
Kind of Rookie to all of this and I am starting to look at buying a Sebring MX.
I was wondering if there was a way with the serial number to identify the car as
being a MX Model originally ???
I've seen quite a few that have been listed for sale as 3000 MX
and 5000 MX but some didn't seem to have the Wide Rear End and
larger Fender Flares. Also, Sometimes it's so hard to tell from the photo's
and the angles shot from.
Thanks for any info or thoughts,
Take Care, Be Safe, and Well,
Craig

Re: How To Tell If It's AN MX or Not
The MX will be characterized by wider Fender Wells between the flare and the body by about 4 in. It will also have a trailing arm or coilover Type rear suspension where is the 5000 and the Saxons had leaf springs. That's not to say that somebody hasn't modified a 5000 but generally that is the rule other than that the cars are the same as far as my knowledge goes.

Hi Monrob22,
Thanks very much for the information, it's so hard to tell as so many call them different
things and numbers. ;-) I really like the looks of the MX with the Wider Fenders and
also the extra suspension parts and setup.
I guess I was hoping that there would be a code or something in the Vin that would
give a hint but guess not.
Thank You, I appreciate Your Reply, Take Care,
Craig

Take a look at the "Data Base" on the Home Page and read "Classic Roadsters VIN identification". It appears that Classic Roadsters used an identification system in VINs that they created.
